Reshuffle at CBI
The governor of the Central Bank of Iran on Tuesday made several appointments as he enters his fifth and the final year of his term. In his first announcement, Valiollah Seif appointed Hossein Yaqoubi Miab as his deputy for international affairs, replacing Gholamali Kamyab who now will serve as an advisor to Seif. Miab earlier acted as the head of the bank’s International Department. Seif appointed Afsaneh Lak-Tabriz as the new head of this department. In another appointment, Hamid Qanbari will serve as the head of CBI’s Foreign Exchange Office. Lak-Tabriz was the former head of the Foreign Exchange Department and Qanbari was her deputy. Seif has in the past made appointments whereby he gave managerial positions to younger officials.
