Tehran Stocks Inch Higher
The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, closed Tuesday in positive territory gaining 5,330 points or 0.35% to end trade at 1,542,711.
Small caps outperformed pushing up the TSE’s equal-weighted index by more than 0.7%.
Retail trade declined further on Tuesday to reach 43.49 trillion rials ($144 million), down 11% on the session before.
About 16.38 billion shares valued at 61.62 trillion rials ($212.5 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Pegah Esfahan Dairy Company was the main winner as its shares went up 5.98% to 19,670 rials per share.
Neyriz White Cement Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.98% to 37,030 rials per share.
Tejarat Bank contributed the most to the benchmark’s fall, followed by Bank Saderat Iran, Iran Khodro Company and Telecommunication Company of Iran.
Esfahan Oil Refining Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company and Pars Petrochemical Company.
IFX Up 0.26%
Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 55.48 points or 0.26% to close Tuesday at 21,404.
About 3.8 billion shares and securities valued at 285.37 trillion rials ($984m) were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.
Kerman Province Development Investment Company had the highest number of traded shares as 212.44 million of its shares worth 203.16 billion rials ($700,562) were traded.
Bahman Diesel Company, Alborz Distribution Company, Iranian Reinsurance Company and Day Insurance Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Iranian Ghadir Iron and Steel Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Minoo Industrial Group Company and Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company.
